Unleash Creativity: Art Exchange CIC Welcomes Everyone!

At Art Exchange CIC, we believe that art is for everyone. We are passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive space where adults and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can explore their creativity and experience the joy of artistic expression.

Sensory exploration and therapeutic processes are at the heart of our approach. We understand that individuals with SEND may have unique sensory needs and ways of interacting with the world. Our sessions are designed to cater to these individualities, offering a variety of materials and techniques that engage different senses:

  • Sight: Explore vibrant colours, textures, and patterns through painting, drawing, and collage.
  • Touch: Experiment with clay, play dough, and other tactile materials to create stimulating textures.
  • Sound: Make music with percussion instruments or create sound collages using everyday objects.
  • Smell: Incorporate aromatic elements like essential oils or scented paints for a multi-sensory experience.

Our art therapists are trained professionals who use art as a tool to promote well-being, communication, and emotional expression. Through art making, individuals with SEND can:

  • Develop fine and gross motor skills.
  • Improve communication and social interaction.
  • Reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Boost self-esteem and confidence.
  • Explore emotions and feelings in a safe and supportive environment.

We offer a variety of sessions tailored to different age groups and needs. Whether you're looking for a fun and stimulating activity for your child or a relaxing and therapeutic experience for yourself, we have something for everyone.

Here's some feedback on one of our sessions:

I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say that **** has really enjoyed the art sessions with you and loves coming each week!

Just going off how she is interacting with you and participating in the tasks when you ask her and seeing her with a genuine smile on her face during that hour, is such a massive step for her, from only 6 months ago, so I wanted to say a massive thank you and that I really appreciate your patience and understanding of ****'s needs also.
